Debian pregnancy cluster: why it is public interest

In most community and hobbyist organizations, if you have some volunteers who are romantically involved with each other then their romances and their children are a private subject.

In many places and in healthy organizations, privacy is the default but privacy is not an absolute right either. One or more public interest situations may arise and when they do, the public interest may be stronger than the default expectation of privacy.

When women are used as pawns to spread rumours about somebody else, I feel this is a strong reason to investigate the credibility of the woman and all the men in proximity to the situation. The woman may be telling the truth but in a group with lots of dirty politics, there is a big risk of vendettas. To put it bluntly, in some groups, women are offered financial benefits and social status in exchange for sex and gossip. If we determine that a group works like that then the cost of verifying the truth of any rumour is extremely high. Unless somebody has died or being seriously injured, it becomes better to simply ignore accusations in such a group. If women want to be believed, they can begin by leaving such groups. As the jurist Blackstone put it so well:

"it is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer."

The Debian pregnancy cluster blogs show us that most of the so-called "Debian women" have a romantic connection to somebody else in the group and a lot of these romances go all the way to marriage and pregnancy.

One way we can see that women lie in Debian is by looking at how they stole the word "diversity" from women at large. Diversity, in the honest sense of the word, means bringing new people to each conference. In Debianism, we can see the "diversity" money goes to the same women each year. More significantly, those are women who people already had children with. They know these women intimately, therefore, it is not diversity. Therefore, if those payments are not for real, honest diversity then this money is a benefit going to some developers and not others. Using the word "diversity" to describe these payments to their girlfriends and wives is proof that they routinely and deliberately lie to everybody else.

If anybody dares to point out the truth about such a group, they are accused of spreading lies or "harassment". This creates a very sad situation where the only way to prove the truth about the group is to publish a list of the relationships, the couples and the babies. After publishing the first blog in the series, people still had doubts about whether the Debian pregnancy cluster was a genuine phenomena. After looking at the way the list grew, there is no longer any doubt about how the group sees the long term potential of each new female intern.

When people discuss the Catholic abuse crisis, one of the topics that distinguishes it from other cases of institutional abuse is the presence of celibacy. That is, the priests are forbidden from having a spouse. Some activists have argued that allowing the priests to have a spouse would reduce the number of abuse cases.

This argument brings us to an interesting question: why did the Catholic church choose to have celibacy in the first place?

We know the celibacy exists since the early centuries of the church but we don't have any strong written records of the reason for it. If written records do exist they are in the secret archives of the Vatican.

Public reports about the topic speculate that one of the reasons for celibacy is the fear that the wives and children of priests would use the assets of the parish or they would hope to inherit assets when the priest dies. If the priest has no children then any financial resources will be continually re-invested in the parish and the church at large.

Anybody donating time or money to Debian's so-called diversity programs needs to know this: your time and money is helping a group look for future breeding opportunities.

Back to the type of woman who spreads rumours. When they spread rumours about a man, they are also humiliating other women in proximity to that man. Being specific, Ariadne Conill, one of the Debian/Zizian transgender mob, occupied herself/himself spreading rumours that one of my interns in Outreachy or Google Summer of Code had a relationship with me. As it was not true, every woman became a suspect. All those women are half my age so it was a bigger humiliation for them than it was for my family.

Despite the gross wrongdoing of the Debian/Zizian transgender mob, that doesn't automatically justify publishing all the evidence about the Debian pregnancy cluster either. In a lot of organizations, the leader would step in and simply tell people that some Debian/Zizian transgender tricksters have been caught lying again and the rumours are all false. A clear statement from the leader expressing support for the interns and my family would have avoided most of the publications on my blog.

Debian money is being used as bait to attract women for the Outreachy internships. Women who apply for these internships are asked to spend time doing unpaid work to prove their interest in Debianism and free software in general. Women are led to believe that the initial selection process and subsequent selections for travel and speaking opportunities are based on merit. Before women spend their time doing a project without payment for the recruitment process, I feel those women have a right to know whether the promise of a meritocracy is real or whether it is just an underhanded form of matchmaking.

If a woman is selected for an Outreachy internship and attends a free software conference for the first time, what will be her next step in the organization? It is important for women to have access to evidence about other volunteers who were asked to provide collateral. These demands for collateral have happened in both Debianism and in the NXIVM sex cult. The report from Vincent Danjean gives us damning evidence about the system of collateral:

When I did the NM process, I knew that I had to give some personal information so that my AM knew me better. I also knew that these mails will be read by FD and DAM. But I knew they will not be public even between other DD. So, I wrote some things about my personal life. I also wrote opinion on other DD (my AM ask me to react to some public claim from theses DD). I do not want that these mails become public (even between DD and even more external people) because I do not remember what I wrote exactly, I do not want to check/rewrite/filter public/private parts, ... These mails have never be intended to be read by people other than the ones that already read them.

It is useful to look at the women who had pregnancies and ask if they were asked to provide collateral when they first joined the group. Many of them joined at the same time as Vincent Danjean.

Following on from the topic of collateral, we have the topic of punishments. Not every woman fits into this type of group. Women who showed signs of resistance experienced punishments. Everybody has the right to know about this risk before joining the group. See the blackmailing of my former Outreachy intern, Renata D'Avila.

Now we see the same phenomena emerging in parallel in the GNOME misfits. There were a group of Albanian women at DebConf19 in Brazil. The two women sitting closest to former Debian leader Chris Lamb were subsequently employed at GNOME. After the second woman was given a job, one of the men in GNOME was given a punishment by public humiliation.

Kristi Progri, Sonny Piers, Anisa Kuci

It is important to remember that the GNOME problems are analogous to the Debian pregnancy cluster because they recruited single, young European (Albanian) women who have had at least some history of romance with other people in the community.

Do you remember any couples from your student union who stayed together and had a baby together? Is Debianism more comparable to a professional organization or is it more like a hobbyist group?

In public, they try to promote the idea that they are some kind of professional group with Code of Conduct gaslighting. As long as they try to fool the public with these snobby statements about people, there is a compelling case for showing it is not such a credible group and the Debian pregnancy cluster helps understand the Code of Conduct gaslighting is nonsense.

One of the biggest reasons to prove the existence of the Debian pregnancy cluster is the dishonesty. The fact that some women were explicitly paid to lie is a strong proof of dishonesty.

Ultimately, I'm sure there are other women outside of these cult groups who really do have real examples of harassment and other crimes from time to time. If those women are to be believed and assisted, we need to pull the rug out from under the women who deliberately lie to get benefits for themselves and their DebConf orgy partners.
