Ed Zitron: Microsoft Is A Decaying Empire That Bet The Future On Making In Excess Of $500 Billion In New Revenue Within The Next 4 To 6 Years From AI — And It Hasn’t Made A Dime In Profit Yet

There's this recent article from Ed Zitron about the reality of Microsoft, based on numbers that the corporate media is paid not to pay attention to. To quote: "Microsoft’s More Personal Computing segment — including Windows, Xbox, Microsoft 365 Consumer, and Bing — has become an increasingly-smaller part of revenue, representing in the latest quarter a mere 17.64% of Microsoft’s revenue in FY26 so far, down from 30.25% a mere four years ago.
"We are witnessing the consequences of hubris — those of a monopolist that chased out any real value creators from the organization, replacing them with an increasingly-annoying cadre of Business Idiots like career loser Jay Parikh and scummy, abusive timewaster Mustafa Suleyman."
They keep talking about slop, but "demand" for slop is actually decreasing, not increasing, so they do anything they can to fake it (e.g. rebranding everything and making "obligatory slop" in every product and service).
Judging by what I'm seeing online, usage of LLM slop in sites is decreasing. This past day, for instance, I only found two examples of slop about "linux" and both came from Google News, one from this slopfarm:

And another from here:

I can hardly find anything in my RSS feeds that is LLM slop (anymore). Slop is way past its peak, as we pointed out yesterday morning. The potential of it was vastly exaggerated and more people come to grips with that.
This means Microsoft bets its future on a bunch of nothing. █
