Another EPO Strike One Week From Now, Local Staff Committee Munich to Discuss It This Week

"The Local Staff Committee Munich [LSCMN] invites all staff to a General Assembly on Thursday 19 February," said LSCMN this week.
They added: "Mr Campinos has now tabled for the General Consultative Committee (GCC) meeting of 24 February his “orientations for a new salary adjustment procedure”. The simulations over the period 2014-2025 show a double digit loss in purchasing power for all places of employment without any financial justification in view of the excellent results and surpluses of the EPO."
The strike's timing is strategic.
LSCMN concluded: "The trade union SUEPO continues with the industrial action plan to fight the erosion of salaries, pensions and benefits with work-to-rule actions, demonstrations and a second day of strike on Monday 23 February."
That is one week from now. Next month there are two planned strikes, not just one:

The latest flyer says: "Mr Campinos has no time for SUEPO"
He has plenty of time to cover up for his cocaine buddy though.

Week of 16 to 20 February: Work-To-Rule continues,
Strike on Monday 23 FebruaryDear SUEPO members, dear Colleagues,
Invitation to negotiate: Wednesday 11 February, the Union Syndicale Fédérale published on the first day of strike and SUEPO Central invited Mr Campinos to an urgent meeting to be held ahead of the next planned strike day. Shortly after, Mr Campinos replied to the January letter of SUEPO Munich and The Hague on the unrest and replied to SUEPO Central that the three Vice-Presidents will organise a meeting on Thursday 19 February. Once again, Mr Campinos refuses to come in person to talk to SUEPO.
General Assembly in The Hague: Thursday 12 February, 688 staff members gathered in a general assembly. The LSC The Hague informed about the latest developments and strike actions.
Lump sums instead of adjustments: The Office Communiqué on the reform pretends that lump sums can ensure that reductions in purchasing power can be mitigated. Giving just one year's worth of compensation is a mere drop in the ocean compared to the losses that are generated for every single remaining year of a staff member's career and every year in pension.
Meet the President: While Mr Campinos has no time for SUEPO, the Office nevertheless offers Team and Directorates “New opportunities to meet the President”. Staff is most welcome to remind him of his 2020 broken promise on purchasing power and to protest against the further erosion to come. Is that a fair recognition of the work of staff in view of the excellent financial results of the Office?
Taking Action: The SUEPO Munich Action Plan. We have worked faithfully and efficiently, yet the President continues to erode our salaries and benefits without financial justification (the 2026 Budget foresees an operating surplus of 643 M€). It is time to respond!
- Work-To-Rule: Action continues for all staff. Avoid overtime. Focus on meticulous quality, the thorough application of the EPC. For examiners: The AC delegations are particularly sensitive to the number of patents granted from which they receive a share of the renewal fees. Focus on search, first and intermediate actions.
- General Assembly: Join the Local Staff Committee on Thursday 19 February at 14.00 hrs (LSCMN). The meeting will provide the latest developments on the salary erosion procedure.
- Warning Strike: Monday 23 February is the second warning strike. The day after, the GCC will meet to discuss the “future orientations on the salary adjustment procedure”
It is time to put an end to further erosion of salaries and benefits. Support the SUEPO Munich Action Plan 2026.

Campinos MIA while Office staff goes on strike at least 4 times. Will Heads of Delegations to the Administrative Council start paying closer attention to what really goes on under their nose? █
