Microsoft to Focus on Name-Dropping Buzzwords to Distract From Declining Business, IBM RAs (Layoffs) With Staff Stack-Ranked
Calling everything cloud or reclassifying as "AI"
So Microsoft has decided to beat the drum some more. Which drum? The buzzwords lunacy drum.
Perhaps they recognise they have nothing left except vapourware or false promises of gimmicks.
As somebody has just put it in relation to IBM, "90% of what's written in the business press about AI is utter nonsense along with 100% of what you see posted on LinkedIn. These people have no idea what they're talking about."
We mentioned it this morning. We've also noticed that a lot of Microsoft's LinkedIn is nowadays slop (both text and images). LinkedIn is becoming a slopfarm. Nothing to be proud of, or to boastful about. It's harmful to be associate with it.
We also recently mentioned - repeatedly in fact - Microsoft's and IBM's eagerness to fit staff into buckets, then discard many of them (as many as 15% of staff every year in IBM). Pay attention to this hours-old comment: "I got marked low performer for last year. I was pretty angry, especially when I'm new to the team, she marked all her old team average or good, and then when I asked how she can justify marking me low, she did a sea water wave up and down sign and said "I'm under extreme pressure from upper management to mark someone on the team as low, so it has to be you" <- exact quote. Well, I guess I no longer have a working relationship with her anymore. This is apparently the best IBM has to offer for management."

The prior comment said: "Low performers should be prepared for a PIP as the next step."
There's this other (new) thread that mentions "low performers" in relation to GDP. One person says: "Think recent events at Kyndryl" (apparent accounting fraud).
It says "0% for low", but what if all those people also get PIP'ed or sacked outright? Then they get not even a salary.
The CEO is clearly trying to distract from the endless layoffs and James Krabanaugh's (book-) cooking talent. █
