"Senior AI Reporter" at Slop Technica/Ars Sloppica Has Written Nothing in Nearly a Week, Did Conde Nast Suspend Him for Fake Articles With Fake Quotes?
As of today (18/02/2026):

Yesterday: Just Like The Register MS, Conde Nast's Ars Technica Has Just Publicly Admitted That It Published Fake Articles (Slop) Made by LLMs About Serious Subjects | Slop Technica: Ars Technica Seems Like Repeat Offender, a Part-Time Slopfarm | Benj Edwards (Ars Technica) Used Fake Articles to Promote Ponzi Scheme for Conde Nast and Its Client (Marketing)
Who pays Conde Nast (marketing company) to have an "AI Reporter", i.e. to create hype around an elaborate pyramid/Ponzi scheme?
Regardless of the answer, this "AI Reporter" has some tough questions to answer. For instance, how long have you used LLMs to produce fake articles? How many articles were prepared by LLMs?
Conde Nast has some questions to answer as well. For example, how do you vet writers and how do you ensure they don't spew out botspam? Or that they don't get bribed to put out promotional pieces for some third party/ies?
Slop Technica/Ars Sloppica is having a serious credibility issue right now - probably worst since the time its senior staff turned out to be raping children (and some colleagues knew or suspected this because he had dropped clues). █
