Reasons to Go on Strike in the European Patent Office (EPO)
In a matter of few hours thousands of EPO staff will be on strike. Here are reasons for more folks to join their striking colleagues:
- Your real salary is going down in spite of producing more "value" to the Office (as in, more monopolies granted and "sold", irrespective of what the actual laws say)
- Your staff representatives are bullied and censored by a dictator who pretends to be nice
- This dictator who pretends to be nice or forthcoming is hiding cocaine use
- Job security at the EPO is no more
- Judges no longer enjoy independence, they're pressured to help fake "production"
- Management that has no background in patents compels workers to use American slop
- Policies are decided which are unconstitutional and harm the European economy - the patent litigation industry and its largest client have way too much sway
- Health and welfare of staff (and their families, including children) got neglected in pursuit of profit as the EPO gets run like a corporation - something the EPC neither envisioned nor allowed
- The EPO continues bullying and censoring the media, hence its current leadership poses a threat to Europe's "Right to Know" as well as "Freedom of the Press"
