The rise (or 'rebirth') of RMS is easy to measure or sort of gauge. He's often cited as an oracle who predicted a lot of negative tech news, even as far back as several decades ago. "RMS was right" fast became a meme.
Next month it will be 6 months of the OSI being headless. All the scandals added up. "Open Source" as a brand may have become obsolete and many people nowadays prefer to say "Free software".
We've meanwhile been contacted by a reader who told us about this new video.

Hey Dr. Schestowitz,Not sure if you saw but yesterday a VERY large YouTuber mentioned RMS and the FSF in a great way. The channel has over 20 million subscribers, and he never once mentioned anything that I would say hurt or diminished RMS. Of course, your opinion is appreciated - so please do check it out! Viewers can focus on or see 1:00 onwards, as it does a decent job explaining how or why GNU came about. Since the video can be ripped we made this local copy of the above-mentioned segment/excerpt. "The video contains a lot of AI slop in place of images," told us the associate who ripped it, and I too had noticed the same.
Assuming 5+ million people will watch this on the first week, that's good publicity for the Free software movement. █
