March in London Today Against Slop's Harms to Society (and the Environment), Starting at 12:00 GMT at the Microsoft OpenAI Office
Yesterday: pulltheplug.uk Says the Internet Harms Us, Will March in London Tomorrow

Today there is a protest in London (UK) against malicious companies that burn money, waste energy, destroy the economy, and spread disinformation for political and personal gain.
To quote:
Hundreds are expected to march in London this weekend to call for democratic control over AI technologies. The demonstration has been organised by a coalition of groups, including Pull the Plug, PauseAI, Blaksox, Mad Youth Organise, and Assemble. This will be the first-ever march on AI, and the largest AI protest to take place in the UK.The march will be a grand tour of Big Tech headquarters and offices in London, passing by the global corporations who are currently controlling and deploying AI technologies, including Open AI, Meta and Google DeepMind.
Harry Atkinson is a 37 years old film maker from London, and a spokesperson from Pull the Plug. He said today:
“I’m no scientist but it’s obvious there will be serious consequences to AI rollout in the UK without public involvement. The people most affected deserve a say in how it’s used and who controls it. We’re calling for democracy. Join us on Saturday – everyone is welcome”

Protestors are meeting at 12:00 PM at the OpenAI office (221 Pentonville Rd, London, N1 9UZ)
As noted yesterday, this site says: "We used to think that the internet would bring us closer together than we've ever been. Instead, so many of us are feeling despondent and isolated. Let's come together, as real people with real faces and real voices, to do something about it! The best antidote to disempowerment is to build power together."
Our readers who live near London can join them. █
