The Slopfarms' Business Case (or Business Model) Never Existed and Nowadays, in 2026, They've Mostly Collapsed
Slopfarms are not independent. They rely on cash-strapped "suppliers" that operate LLMs (or image fusions misleadingly sold as "AI") and help produce fake articles that are actually state-of-the-art plagiarism. They were never sustainable. Slopfarms rely on debt-saddled companies and those companies, in turn, rely on sponsors of a Ponzi scheme (GAFAM, NVIDIA, SoftBank etc.) and a population's ignorance, mistaking LLMs for intelligence (there's none!) because of paid-for media lies, e.g. judges being replaceable by slop.
Slopfarms are thankfully failing. Last year many ceased to operate and all we found yesterday was linuxsecurity.com with two articles that are LLM slop. It's just the usual garbage.
In Google News we see almost no slop today, when searching for "linux" at least:

It is a slopfarm, albeit the only one that shows up today. Hopefully by year's end many slop suppliers will be offline and slopfarms that rely on them throw in the towel.
Slop is not a skill. Remember Benj from Slop Technica/Ars Sloppica? He definitely seems to have been sacked for slop! So "AI literacy" gets you sacked. Take note.
Slop is not the future; it a ruinous passing fad. █
