Microsofters' SLAPP Censorship - Part 4 Out of 200: Rianne’s Version of Events and Narrative

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Mar 06, 2026

Rianne Schestowitz

3 days ago we began telling our story as it was noted in words back in 2024. It has aged well because not much has changed and the law firm keeps 'trafficking' lots of legal papers into our home (about 5,000 pages in the past 4 days alone). We'll remark on the volume/quantity on a separate occasion, but today we tell Rianne's experience. Remember this was 2 years ago.

In this short section, Rianne presents her narrative, which is very short because she never met Matt [Garrett] and never spoke to Matt. Her sole “interaction” with Matt was receiving a pre-action letter from him and then notification of a case being file against her, not even with the correct name. This is beyond absurd, but that’s just what happened.

Rianne is the hard-working curator and the author of Tux Machines, a site which turned 20 this year (June 10th) [2024]. She was being attacked, harassed, intimidated, and even falsely accused in an effort to make her writing about the abuse that she received seem like it's 'insulting' the abusers; the audacity of it all is amazing as both Rianne and her husband Roy have been subjected to these nasty attacks since 2022. They are convinced of their claims – as expressed originally in their respective sites/blogs - and insist on their innocence as far as facts go. They both merely responded to persistent attacks of an illegal nature, against our whole families, not just them alone.

Rianne wishes to make the following points:

1. She was the biggest victim and there were also attacks on her husband's family (most of the time the abuser seems to attack Jewish people)

All she did was, she responded to a horrible, sexist and racist attack on her... from people she never talked to!

They panicked about the reaction to her articles and were desperate to censor them.

They didn't know how to stop reporting on their abuse against Rianne, so they threatened litigation and tried since last summer to take down her articles (in a number of nefarious ways), always to no avail. Those articles were all merely responses to abuse that she had received.

Rianne should be able to defend herself and write sincere articles detailing what she suffered for the course of months if not years. She spent many weeks, even entire nights, learned what had happened and accumulating evidence that is fully available. In a properly-functioning society victims of abuse are listened to, not silenced.

Roy and Rianne both think it would be best to present the case at hand as one of electronic harassment, at the very least - what we have here is not only Matthew Garrett vs critics but also against women writers. He must be jealous of them because they do well. He has quite a reputation for being dismissive of women. If one was to study his background (and this was checked before) one way to deal with this other than a counterclaim is to litigate against him on grounds of aggravated harassment. Roy and Rianne initially deemed a female barrister more suitable for this job, as Matthew Garrett seems afraid of women and isn’t good at interacting with women. As a matter of public recording, as per Matthew Garrett himself:

1. Matthew said himself that looking for sex in FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) conferences. This has caused him much embarrassment later because it is true (according to himself).

2. Matthew Garrett speaks on his website about doing code for “sexual favours” (whether this was a joke or not does not matter much as the wordings upset women whom he was supposed to work with).

3. Matthew Garrett is writing about “axe-murdering” on his website. He does not deny that he wrote that. The axe theme and knife theme kept coming up again and again in future things he wrote, raising the possibility that he is a serious physical danger to people around him.

4. Matthew Garrett talking on his blog about wanting to stab his colleagues.. with the source of this being himself. Again, this isn’t a matter of opinion or interpretation. He just says tactless things with allusions to violence and this goes back about 20 years if not longer.

5. He talks about his female colleague being afraid of him. He boasts about breaking into devices.

Garrett is not so opaque because he writes crude tweets with rude words and expletive when he is angry or depresses. Roy and Rianne managed to identify the following patterns: most of his victims/targets are seem to be Jewish and it is hard to ignore. He seems to also reject biological women and resorts to attacking them, especially if they do better than him. Rianne’s Website is exceptionally popular and have been around for more than 2 decades; it publishes about 20,000 pages per year, whereas Matt’s blog publishes perhaps 5 per year. Maybe Matt should find better use for his time (than to draft lawsuits and then seek law firms to go ahead with those). Trying to drag other people down is a short-term and self-harming way of getting ahead.

Irrational things, impulsive actions, tend to be undertaken when people simply hate someone else’s life or work than they appreciate or love their own life and work. Undermining someone else’s mission or land or property will never bring about the same motivation, determination and passion as those who defend their own and/or cherish their own. Hate tends to perish, eventually.
