IBM's Fedora as a Booster of Slop Disguised as Code or Computer Programs
"Sloppyleft" - an article by Alexandre Oliva (FSF) - is less than a day old. Oliva used to work for Red Hat (after IBM took over, albeit just briefly) and then left because, according to Oliva, IBM was no good. He also told me it was rather suspicious how Fedora was always under the control (at a bureaucratic level) of IBM staff by holding a majority perpetually. Now this is more extreme than ever. Following the latest Fedora Elections only one single person is not IBM staff, so almost everyone has IBM as their "master" and paymaster.
Oliva does not like slop, he likes to code. We're talking about people who properly understand programs they wrote and audited versus casual babysitters of slop, made by LLMs that lack comprehension of what they produce or why. A lot of 'homebrew' for alcohol is not permitted for risk of food poisoning. When it comes to code, erosion of quality can spell disaster.
Right now Fedora has an artist in the 'Board' and she keeps promoting slop for code. We showed some examples before and here is a new example.

Maybe we should also stop seeing a doctor and instead ask chatbots about symptoms? Maybe people should become their own electricians and get electrocuted?
I know people who dumped Fedora because Fedora is no longer about engineering (like it used to be). It's about slop. █
