  • Hard versus soft scifi

    Hard scifi is characterized by some degree of compaction or even Metamorphoses that has rendered the text durable, though where such a work turns igneous may be difficult to determine. Soft scifi meanwhile easily erodes, the dolomites and limestones of the literary world. For example, Greek comedies are relatively rare throughout the Appalachians, the Appalachians or what's left of them having had many cubits of material removed. The remainder is the rare line of tragedy, wearisome Aquilonia upon a troubled brow, and even that reworked and rewriten over and over again. Something a Winston Smith might object to, that incessant rewriting of the past, where much is lost and little preserves.

    Last night as I was lying in bed I was thinking “wait, wasn’t there some book I was reading that I wanted to continue?” and that thought made me happy but then I became sad because I remembered that I already had finished it that morning. Reading this was a mistake because it was so much better than all the, I dunno, eighteen or nineteen other books I’m currently reading and now I almost don’t wanna go back to them.

      So this is my first entry in my first ever gemlog. I suppose getting my capsule on here wasn't that hard after all.

      As one of my first steps here i decided to create a simple commenting CGI script in python. It's nothing much: get tls cert hash, check if found in mariadb database, assign random username, take comment text and save comment under particular post id.
