IBM is Sunsetting Red Hat, It Only Uses the Brand and the Shell
Hours ago:

IBM buys or spins off companies as containers (vessels) for "toxic assets" and debt:

When the year began with page #13769 (almost 2,000 pages ago) we published "The End of Red Hat" and "2026 IBM Phaseout of Red Hat" because effective January 1st 2026 many Red Hat staff became just IBM staff. Almost 3 months later we must remind ourselves that people who leave Red Hat are no longer "Red Hat" and we won't hear of any more "Red Hat layoffs" because of the bluewashing.
If the hearsay is true, there's a giant wave of layoffs coming very soon. People onboarded through Red Hat included.
When it comes to subsidiaries, IBM knows how to use them for accounting 'tricks'. Consider these hours-old comments about Kyndryl:

Kyndryl owes more money than it is said to be "worth".
Judging by this latest thread, IBM does nothing to elevate its status, it just tries to squeeze out more money from what's left while sacking those who built the company.

Some of these are too rude to reproduce as text. They will probably get censored soon. █
