What IBM and EPO Workers Have in Common: European Media Not Covering Very Major News (Press Became Dysfunctional)
Massive (large-scale) "HR" news going on, but no reporting. An hour ago: (lots of IBM departures this week)
Today it'll be the third consecutive day of EPO strikes and also the first such day in April. The workers, some of whom unionised, have had enough!
At IBM, the union (in Europe) speaks of mass layoffs and has spoken about these for quite some time. IBM has apparently sedated the media, which kept silent about several waves of mass layoffs at IBM and companies it bought. Similarly, nobody in the European media even mentioned the EPO strike. Incredible, is it not? We've meanwhile notice that war coverage in Ukraine fell sharply in Europe (and America) since the "fury" war began in the Gulf. The number of headlines about Russia and Ukraine fell by more than half.
We know for sure there are layoffs at Red Hat (but they "reassign" staff) and the last time the media said anything about Red Hat layoffs was about 3 years ago. Why? Is there no longer any whistleblower-media interaction? Are IBM operatives working to scuttle the process of investigative journalism? █
