I know what it's like to be harassed by Microsoft and Microsofters. Microsoft and their people have done this to me for over 20 years already. First they contacted my university (when I was a Ph.D. student) and in 2008 their cronies were publicly alluding to legal action against me. That was 18 years ago.
That Microsoft relies on blackmail, bribes and harassment (even against its own people) isn't surprising given the roots of the company and its toxic, deceitful management.
Microsoft deserves to be treated more like a cult or a religion, not an ordinary company. See Andy's article from last week. He said: "Take Microsoft. Everyone in computing knows about Microsoft products. Especially their Windows series of operating systems. No serious computer security person would ever willingly deploy Microsoft. But they do. If you're an IT professional in the UK you know… "But you can't say that!!". For laughs, you can say Bill Gates should have used Kaspersky instead of Windows antivirus before inserting his USB stick in a Russian model. But make any serious, rational, evidenced criticism of Microsoft and the room falls silent." █
