Microsoft: Move Over, XBox, Slop is the New "Entertainment" and We Demote Our "Entertainment" CEO
Marketers, marketers, marketers, as a CEO called Ballmer put it

This was hours ago, notice the part about "XBox".
Forget about "investing" 80 billion dollars in slop. That's never going to work and Microsoft cannot afford it (even before the latest war and price surges it could not amass such a sum).
There's a day of reckoning for Microsoft and Oracle, as both companies saw debt surging by about 20 billion dollars [1, 2] with nothing to show for it.
We are seeing many articles today about Oracle changing its CFO. Almost all of them attribute the problem to slop, even though the real issue is commercial. "Less than a week after thousands of layoffs, Oracle hires new CFO; appointment is ‘effective immediately’," one headline says and another new headline says "Microsoft AI [sic] CEO Mustafa Suleyman says role change was planned, denies demotion claims". Call it "demotion" or not, it says: "The restructuring within Microsoft’s AI division had led to questions about his reduced involvement in the company’s Copilot products."
Days ago people caught the company admitting that those "Copilot products"1 are just for "ENTERTAINMENT!"2
Forget about XBox. Play with chatbots. Use at your own risk. It's "fun"...
Microsoft has no viable plan, does it? Just more silent layoffs. █
_____
1 Take a look at the new article "80 different Microsoft Copilot products have been mapped out by expert, but there may be more than 100 — 'What happens when you name everything Copilot,' an AI consultant mapped out the myriad products" which explains "[w]hat happens when you name everything Copilot" to fake growth.
2 "Microsoft updates Copilot terms and conditions, warning that the AI tool is for entertainment only and users assume all risks," a report has noted.
