SLAPP Censorship - Part 42 Out of 200: Getting the Very Basic Technical Concepts Very Wrong, or Where Miscomprehension Begets "Plausible Deniability"
posted by Roy Schestowitz on Apr 10, 2026

As per Wikipedia:

In the past we've repeatedly said that we're being bullied by people who are nontechnical or even anti-technical (they compensate for a lack of knowledge with their strident tone and bullish, extravagant threats). Consider this:

There are several glaring problems here, and "true geeks" will spot them right away (we covered this in "Mozilla Waters Down Its Vision of The Internet"; Mozilla is now occupied by non-techs who view Firefox as "something to monetise").
Internet must have a capital "i" (not negotiable) and there is no such thing as "an internet browser", so clearly they (the barrister and all the lawyers involved) have no grasp of how the Internet works, what the Internet is, and what distinguishes the Web (World Wide Web) from the Net. This is a case involving technology, but Brett Wilson LLP is just a Microsoft/Windows shop (they use nothing but Microsoft and don't know how to transmit confidential data securely; we covered this before and they're still doing the same) and the barrister is just wrangling smart [sic] phones and social control media; he is about as old as the Web, but not the Net.
It's difficult to argue with people over things that they do not even understand. █
