About 24 hours from now Richard Stallman (RMS) will be giving a talk in Texas. He continues to lead - not as a spiritual leader but as a good spokesperson - the messaging regarding Software Freedom. So said his FSF colleague Geoffrey Knauth (who inherited his place before it got passed to Ian Kelling. We cannot (at this time) find a link to something like a webstream.

The reason France is moving to "Linux" isn't that it likes the brand or the features. It is about control and autonomy, i.e. what RMS emphasised all along. █

France plans to replace some Microsoft Windows systems in government with Linux to reduce reliance on U.S. tech and gain more control over its data.
