"The Work-to-rule is Having Effect" at the European Patent Office (EPO)
No longer sacrificing the EPC?
About an hour ago we mentioned the "[n]ext GCC meeting [of the European Patent Office (EPO)] on the salary adjustment procedure," citing a "[r]equest for personal attendance of the President" (who is in hiding amid mass protests, demonstrations, work-to-rule industrial actions, and non-stop strikes).
One reader has asked: "When did the current round of EPO strikes start and how long are they scheduled to go?"
"I guess from the start of April to the end of June?"
No, they can go on until 2027. If "the President" keeps ducking and isn't negotiating, it'll worsen and sooner rather than later EPO stakeholders will start issuing statements of condemnation.
"Also," the reader has asked, "who is the external contact / spokesman for SUEPO regarding the strikes?"
The media knows how to contact SUEPO, but it's clearly not doing it. If it did, there would be press coverage. It didn't even write any articles when over 1,000 people were demonstrating in the streets in Munich or "attending" via livestream.
"The work-to-rule is having effect," the reader said, based on last night's figures (reproduced again below). █
