SLAPP Censorship - Part 52 Out of 200: Phil Golding Appointed Bar Standards Board (BSB) Chief, Misogyny Must End
The man on the right can put an end to this and restore trust in barristers

How low will they stoop in Microsoft's Graveley & Garrett v Schestowitz & Schestowitz? How many rules will they "bend" or even breach? How many more judges will they knowingly lie to in an effort to cover up their own misdeeds and their clients'?

As we explained last year, the legal team of the Serial Strangler from Microsoft and his litigation buddy Garrett [1, 2] is anti-metoo and profits from targeting vulnerable women who cannot afford legal representation. This needs to be put out in public for the world to see. Our barrister said we should talk about it, as never before (having done hundreds of cases) has he seen such misuse of the legal system (and he had spent many years at Ofcom).
In yesterday's last part (latest anyway!) about third-party funding for litigation, which can take the form of "no-win, no-fee" (e.g. a firm taking financial risk and lending for a lawsuit, in effect participating in it financially) we spoke about who's behind it, though in this case it wasn't the firm or only the firm, there was another set of parties involved and the legal bills racked up probably exceed a million dollars by now, at least on paper.
What parties are spending a million dollars to attack me and my family because we the Techrights community have hurt some feelings?
We need to know the answer.
See "Solicitors in UK warned not to act as ‘hired guns’ to silence critics of super-rich" (2023) and various other articles to the same effect.
Public awareness of this issue is growing. I do my share and raise awareness.
SLAPPs are not a legitimate use of the courts.
Solicitors and Barristers alike are doing it. Solicitors are regulated by the toothless Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), whereas barristers are regulated by the Bar Standards Board (BSB). Hours ago we learned that the "BSB names new chief":
Meanwhile, Phil Golding appointed director general of the Bar Standards Board (BSB). He will take up the role on 1 July, which has been covered in the interim by Steve Haines following Mark Neale’s retirement. He has been chief executive at the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners since October 2022 and before that was chief executive of the Law Commission.
He has held a number of roles in the Ministry of Justice, including head of the Senior Presiding Judge’s Office and senior operational leadership roles within HM Courts and Tribunals Service.
He said: “I am delighted to be returning to the legal sector, where I have spent the majority of my career.
“I look forward to supporting and helping the Bar Standards Board to be an effective and efficient regulator that delivers in the public interest. I am keen to prioritise building strong relationships with our stakeholders at what is an important time for the legal sector.”
They will probably hear from us soon.
The Bar Standards Board (BSB) will be duly informed when the time is right. People who attack women should not be able to exercise this profession. This needs to end. █
