Why We Publish "The Corrupt Lecture the Non-Corrupt"
We currently run in tandem two series about the European Patent Office (EPO). One is about the EPO's "Cocaine Communication Manager" (Part XI is dated April; the series might last until 2027). The other is about corrupt officials and their double standards (see first part, second part, third part, fourth part, fifth part, sixth part, seventh part, eighth part, and ninth part).
I am a European. I am happy to live here. I am also concerned. Seeing decades' worth of reporting about what happened in Russia (to various institutions, including the media), I worry we're heading in the same direction in the name of "stability" or "calm". The oligarchs (e.g. large EPO applicants or "customers" such as Microsoft and IBM) get whatever they want and we the peasantry must obey and participate in what they demand, e.g. by granting them patents (monopolies overseas).
Collectively, as a population, as have a moral responsibility. It's imperative for each and every one of us to become part of the solution, not a conformist "cog". Duties to societies are not a contract; they're acts of solidarity.
It seems like the vast majority of patent examiners share this sentiment, hence the mass actions such as strikes.
We intend to report the facts, fearlessly, until real and lasting solutions are reached. As a rule of thumb, we "Fight Till the End". █
