A Month Since Mass Layoffs at Red Hat (400+ Engineers Laid Off), The Media Didn't Cover It
Yesterday: Thousands of Layoffs at IBM, So IBM Pays Mainstream Media to Claim That IBM is Hiring (Paid Lies)
Yesterday as well:

There is something profoundly wrong with the media if ~1,000 people being laid off by IBM isn't considered news and over 400 people laid off at Red Hat won't be mentioned in even a single 'Linux' blog. It's not that evidence was insufficient, it's just that there was a lack of will to cover that.
We are very concerned about the state of the media because it keeps happening, and it's happening not only in technology. We've already pointed out that strikes at the EPO aren't being mentioned despite their high frequency and thousands of people involved in them.
Slop isn't the sole culprit, just one of several. Oligarchy is buying what's left of the media; the slopfarms are merely parroting that media.
Here's a slopfarm openly boasting it tricked Google News into listing it as a news site, not bot-based plagiarism:

That's an example from yesterday. We hardly mention the slopfarms anymore (only about once a week), but they're still out there and sometimes people give them traffic because of Google. █
