India Needs to Recognise That the World Wide Web is Monoculture in India

Chrome is now measured at over 90% of the Indian Web browser usage (based on this one surveyor at least). More than 5% of the rest is some kind of Chrome-isms (e.g. based on the same codebase, uses same rendering engine, derived from common libraries) and Firefox is at 0.7% with other Gecko-based (or Servo-based) browsers at nowhere near enough to touch 1% combined. This means that the "market share" of Chrome-isms is well above 100 times higher than Mozilla-isms. If that's even a word, pardon our French...
That's in India.
This is catastrophic. Indian sites probably already pass over Firefox (won't test for compatibility), instead assuming Chrome-isms. This will only further discourage adoption of alternatives to Chrome-isms. This is not only a monopoly but also dangerous monoculture. In the US, a judge with Indian roots dealt with a case related to this; why won't India? █
