Companies That Say They Are "Hey Hi" (AI) Leaders Don't Really Do Well, They Have Mass Layoffs Because Hype and Storytelling Won't Live Up to Shareholders' Expectations
The front page of DeepL makes it very clear that DeepL sees itself as "hey hi" company with "DeepL Agent" (buzzword for bot):

The company now lays off hundreds of people:
-
Layoffs: Google Translate Rival DeepL Announces Plans To Cut 25% Of Staff
DeepL, the German startup building translation tools, announced plans to cut approximately 25% of its workforce [...]
-
AI just took the jobs of over 100 people at DeepL
The company is cutting approximately 250 roles from its global headcount.
The bubble isn't steady. The popping won't be an overnight thing. Same as "blockchains" and "IoT".
"AI layoffs" should refer to companies that say they do "AI" and are collapsing. Regain control of narratives and language. Slop isn't replacing workers. It's just a lie that some media gets paid to repeat. We're meant to believe this lie and repeat it ourselves. Some self-described 'business leaders' fall for the lie, dabble in slop, and then regret it.
By the way, we saw several media reports about Microsoft's internal memo on "buyouts" (layoffs). As expected, the offer isn't good. It's just layoffs. Microsoft's investment in slop is not going well. Like DeepL, the company disintegrates, but it's overall a lot bigger than DeepL. █
