Internal Microsoft Communications Confirm: "Buyout" Offer Worse Than a Year's Salary and Microsoft Offers "Retirement" to Young People Who Cannot Retire
A week ago: Microsoft "Buyout" Offer is Less Than One Year's Salary
Based on Bill Epsteingate-funded (and pro-Microsoft) media some hours ago:

As we said before, Microsoft is implementing giant layoffs under the guise of "retirement", targeting the most experienced workers (predating the visas frenzy, so there is an ethnic correlation, set aside median salary); if you don't take "the offer", they'll likely push you out later (with a worse departure "gift"). At Microsoft, even people in their 40s are wrongly assumed ready for "retirement" (even if they have kids, mortgage and so on).
This is an annotated summary of what Microsoft offers people to pack up their things and leave within weeks (not even end of year!).

Does that sound like a good offer or marching orders? █
