How Can the 'Broligarchs' Love Us When They Don't Even Love Themselves?

'Broligarchs' as a term was not coined by us and there is a blog called "How to Survive the Broligarchy" by a famous victim of UK SLAPPs, Carole Cadwalladr. She criticised American monopolies and 'Broligarchs', so they punished her with lawsuits. As she put it this month: "I’m an investigative journalist who’s spent a decade reporting on the collision of technology and democracy including exposing the Facebook/Cambridge Analytica scandal for the Guardian and the New York Times. Two years ago, I called the alliance of Trump, Silicon Valley and a global axis of autocracy: a tech bro oligarchy, aka the Broligarchy. Please help me continue to expose it."
This "Broligarchy" - as some call it - lacks sympathy. The corporations they control are incapable of empathy. Trying to appeal to their emotions - as if there are any - is a waste of time. They cheat on their spouses, they joke about assassinations, and they vainly believe that they and only they deserve privacy. 19 years ago we quoted a site that no longer exists. It said: "My father, in his travels, has met Bill Gates. I don't think I'd be creating a problem for him now (as he recently retired) by saying that he was unimpressed. Apparently Gates was rude, he was distracted, and when he sat, he rocked back and forth in his chair, an action which reminded my Dad of people with dementia."
We might see the same next month when he gets grilled over his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, but they've already spent 2-3 months preparing him to respond (rehearsals). His kid has already been groomed to help him appeal to the (mild) "autism defence".
In my own personal experience, it's pointless to assume large corporations and drug-taking oligarchs (like MElon) give a damn about human dignity or laws or anything like that. To combat these sociopaths we need to adapt to realistic expectations.
Bezos and Ellison scoop up corporate media not because they wish to support journalism; the aim is to control journalism. Bill Epsteingate seems to have poisoned just about every major outlet because 2-3 decades ago he was one of the most hated people in the world.
Trying to appease people who lack emotions and who believe they can literally buy popularity is a waste of time; what needs to be done instead is journalism they do not and cannot control. Their SLAPPs have their limits because, if done improperly, they will always backfire (sometimes sooner, sometimes later). █
