Top Officials Have Just Left Microsoft, Layoffs in Anything But Name
The media is belittling it or simply not reporting it (or merely parroting Microsoft's own "lipstick on a pig"), but in recent days quite a few top managers at Microsoft left. The same had happened in XBox in recent weeks and months. It smells like trouble for Microsoft. Either Microsoft wanted them out or they knew really bad news was on the way and decided to depart to avoid the finger-pointing. That's aside from the layoffs in "buyouts" clothing and what seems like LinkedIn layoffs twice in terms of scale what Microsoft claimed them to be (we did the math; it doesn't add up).
From what we can gather, Microsoft keeps delaying what insiders call an impending "bloodbath" in XBox and several other units, which are well overdue for considerable downsizing: (they lose money, they are overstaffed too)
The above has no actual source to back it up, but we're looking at about 10,000 layoffs in just 2 months (maybe more). If Microsoft does get rid of up to 20% of its staff this year, it will not be so shocking. If it failed to report mass layoffs with WARN noticed, it would be more of the same. Microsoft's debt is very fast-growing. █
