Julian Assange's Counsel Jennifer Robinson Has Just Won an Award
Two years ago (later this month it will be exactly two years) Julian Assange returned to Australia. His wife and his counsel spoke to the media about it.
Jennifer Robinson is relatively young (for her kind of role and status); she rose to fame before Assange owing to another client. It took her over a decade of fighting to finally liberate Assange. Things progressed a lot faster once Barry Pollack got involved.
The mainstream media in her home country reports that she has won the Sydney Peace Prize and notes "her dedication to upholding and promoting free speech, press freedom, and gender and climate justice."
She is the antithesis of the incels who work for slop companies and file SLAPPs in another continent to squash reporting about corporate corruption.
When I spoke to her (briefly) it was about the Murdoch media (US) attacking her too in the media. Because she defended Assange. Of course Murdoch comes from Australia and pretends to be British when that suits him, but his real masters and money are in American and he is a supporter of Cheeto, who blackmailed Assange (as witnesses explained), raped women, and did all sorts of other horrible things.
It is good to see Robinson receiving some more belated recognition in some sites:
Since the Assange case (~2010-2024) press freedom has rapidly deteriorated worldwide and we're in contact with our politicians to rectify this. The SLAPP industry needs to be scuttled. The sooner, the better. █
