Web Censorship Benefits the Corrupt and the Criminal
More so when corrupt politicians are in charge
We're currently running a very long series about corrupt Portuguese officials and their role in protecting the "cocaine king" of Europe's second-largest institution, the EPO. So far in this series:
By the time the series is done we expect some real reaction, both inside and outside the EPO.
Censorship by the EPO's management, or systematic suppression of facts which continues this year (e.g. suppressed information a la "2025: EPO President Campinos Breaks the Cookie Jar, Steals Another Million Euros While His "Brother-in-Law" Does Cocaine at the Office and Staff Prepares Rolling, Indefinite Strikes"), is counterproductive because the facts will come out one way or another. If they're not transparent about what they do, it'll come out some other way and they're going to have no control over the narrative.
In China, stating facts can result in arrest and even death penalty.
"Tomorrow is the 37th anniversary of the Tienanmen Square massacre," an associate reminds us. "The CCP has still not disclosed how many thousands or tens of thousands were killed there and then."
"The censorship and revisionism gets more complete each year," he adds.
Any society which tolerates censorship will end up with corrupt, ultra-violent people rising to the top and threatening to kill their critics. █
