2026 is the Year of Blockchains, Says IBM's CEO a Decade Ago?
June 2016 (it'll be exactly one decade ago at the end of this month):

This will turn 10 about a week from now:

From the article: "IBM plans to put it to work within the company as well, Arvind Krishna, a research director at IBM, said today at the 2016 WIRED Business Conference..."
What a "crypto-visionary".
Once he became CEO he changed the buzzword-slinging cycles, e.g. in October 20, 2020. Stark contrast.
IBM down 14% in just 72 hours (maybe shareholders realise that the "quantum" talk was wishful thinking, nothing more):

IBM's choice for leaders (of the Board, not just the CEO) can tell a lot about the state of IBM. It's becoming a monarchy. Dissent disallowed (rumours claimed that's why Jim Whitehurst left; the monarch jumped the queue of succession).
The saying for that is, "falling upwards"; meaning, the more you fail (e.g. predictions, strategy), the more likely you are to get promoted (gravity in reverse). Some say that's definitely what happens in Albany, a hub of the "quantum" hype.
If IBM is becoming just a museum and expired patents, who will be left to tell its story? Krishna? He'll be retired soon. He doesn't care if his present predictions never come true.
Krishna has already done a lot of damage to Red Hat (it was his own idea to buy it). He's not done yet. █
