Communicating With Freedom - Part IV - Quibble Now in quibble.chat, Open for Contributions Via Codeberg

Today we continue the series about Quibble, which will help LibreJS and other projects evolve, set aside positive impact on privacy and Software Freedom. In prior parts about Quibble (Part I; Part II; Part III) we spoke of LibreJS, a project cherished by the FSF, which will cover and maybe promote Quibble some time later this year. Its founder, Dr. Stallman, gives a public talk in a few hours and he is very well aware of Quibble.
"Heya Dr. & Mrs. Schestowitz!" one developer of Quibble told us the other day. "I had a chance yesterday to read your Techrights post about Quibble in Part 2..."
That's the part which spoke about how development of one project helps another (LibreJS). "Thanks again," he said, "I really do appreciate the publicity. Folks are finally starting to respond to my `bug-librejs` email thread with mostly positive, constructive feedback, which has been really encouraging! I think I’m going to make a sub-channel under LibreTech’s Matrix instance to host communication for this LibreJS rebuild. Most people seem to agree this project needs to good chunk of it rewritten, as we might as well do it in a way that makes it dead simple for others to integrate too."
Richard Stallman is involved as a sort of "mentor" (informally).
"For now though," we've learned, "Dr. Stallman confirmed that I should focus on getting Quibble nailed down first and worry about LibreJS later, so tooling for that is not something to stress over just yet ;-)"
The good news is, there's something new on the way and it tackles several requirements at the same time and at a critical time.
Quoting a developer: "My buddy Alexandre, who’s helping me with LibreJS from France, needs a bit more time to dig through the codebase and talk through a more concrete game plan with me. The current LibreJS-CMD codebase will likely go through another overhaul as we work toward whatever that end goal ends up looking like. Still, things seem to be coming along nicely in Alexandre’s and my spare time. Also, the version bumps on `librejs-cmd` were due to CI issues - Codeberg’s CI system is quite a bit different from any other Git provider I’ve used before 😅"
It is possible for more people to get involved. "I also wanted to share two quick updates on where Quibble is being hosted," we got told. "The Quibble code repository, along with the issue/task tracker and website, are all on Codeberg now. Since Codeberg was kind enough to grant us access to their medium CI tier free of charge, we’ve been able to host the entire project on Codeberg Pages, CI, and Git - so nothing here is nonfree. [...] this project is 100% GitHub-free!"
