For Justice We Need More Speech, Not Less Speech
When you attack something you are just giving that something a bigger platform
Yesterday we wrote about Navalny and argued that "Putin's regime stands to gain if his enemies are no longer alive and not recalled (in conversations) either."
We've since then been told of an "attempt [...] made to set a memorial bench in honour of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny on fire. The bench is located in Helsinki's Neitsytpuisto Park, close to the Russian Embassy on Tehtaankatu."
What sort of sick person would wish to do this? If anything, this shows the need for more such benches - more than can feasibly be "arsoned" [sic] to "make a statement".
Navalny faced violence and persecution, then prosecution, after threats to his life; instead of staying in Germany he went back to Russia to confront evil "head-on". (As a reminder: that evil extended to GAFAM)
Whoever decided to "attack the bench" scored an own goal; now, as a result, more people remember Navalny and what he stood for. The bench seems to have remained unharmed (it would not surrender to the aggressor). █
