Richard Stallman's Talk Due in One Hour, Here's What People Say
The public talk of Dr. Stallman has just been mentioned by einstein-pflaster.de and as the founder & CTO of Abundent put it some hours ago: "Stallman's genius was never anarchism; it was governance through transparency, using the law to guarantee that power over essential tools remained inspectable, contestable, and shared. The danger is not that some narrow class of capabilities might warrant genuine, publicly governed restriction."
When asked about the FSF or GNU, Stallman has explained that they borrow many concepts not from anarchism or any particular viewpoint/ideology. Copyleft, by its nature, does seek to enforce a licence (unlike Public Domain for instance).
To Stallman, what matters is control by users and collective control (e.g. by those users' group/nation/organisation). It would be wrong to equate that with anarchism. █
