Executives are fleeing, the CEO openly admits sustainability issues, mass layoffs are definitely planned, and now (weeks ahead of July) we already hear of several studios planning complete shutdown, not decoupling.
Microsoft is quickly losing control of the narrative and Sharma looks like a "fall guy", not someone who plans a real renaissance for XBox. With open admissions of hardware (component) costs being an additional factor, it looks inevitable that XBox (the console) business will come to an end.
We are guessing that the slop business of Microsoft is heading towards a similar fate - for it has many of the same issues, even worse (absolutely huge losses). This is what happens when companies try to establish themselves on a mountain of promises and false assumptions, kicking the can down the road until payroll becomes hard to complete. █
