The Register MS with its content-farming practices contributes to a false sense of "revolution" or "era" or "arms race" or whatever.
We deem this a timely reminder that a lot of the hype around slop is paid-for lies. In the case of the above publisher, disclosures help confirm this to be the case.
Trust in the media will continue to erode not because of LLMs but because a lot of the media gets paid to tell us lies about LLMs and other plagiarism engines. █
