Microsoft Can't Even Wait Until July, Shutdowns and Layoffs Already Happening
Some weeks ago people found out what was coming and some media - notably Bloomberg - confirmed what managers at Microsoft had long known. That meant that Microsoft could no longer sit and wait until "d-day".
An hour ago we noticed that authors at Mashable speak of "a grim picture for the state of Xbox."

What was a rumour in an online forum is not just a rumour anymore. What was previously marked (tentatively) for July 1 or the first week of July is now the last day of June.

Many sites try to make it seem or sound like it is about games, but this is not true.
In many divisions, which are in no way connected to entertainment and gaming, there are already mergers, cuts, and quiet shutdowns. Techrights has seen evidence of this.
The word "bloodbath" gets thrown around a lot, but the "mayhem" will impact the entire company. A lot of it isn't profitable and hence unsustainable. It becomes harder to pay people salaries. Debt has skyrocketed. █
