'Social' Slop: The Social Control Media and Slop Crises Are Converging
How much slop is "too much" for Google's YouTube, Facebook, and others?

In Twitter (if I stumble upon it), a lot of stuff is slop. The slop images stand out, so one can assume a lot of the text is slop as well. The same is true in Microsoft's LinkedIn. This recent report says that in Fentanylware (TikTok) slop is outpacing real human effort/activity.
This is both timely and useful.
On the one hand, it can contribute to efforts to curb Social Control Media, based on allegations that it spreads falsehoods.
On the other hand, slop concerns would be further legitimised; it's drowning out (with noise) "human signal".
Social Control Media and slop may have a shared fate. People will shun them both. █
