Paying Severance to Staff Laid Off by Microsoft Too Expensive for Microsoft Now?

10 minutes ago somebody said: "Everybody Lawyer up! They pull this No Severance shit the last time, they'll do it again now, if enough people come together, maybe they can pull off a class action!"
Somebody else says they did the same last time. But it's not clear what "they" refers to.
This new report about the union says "the atmosphere remains tense, with union leaders advocating for fair severance packages, job security, and transparency in layoff decisions." Another site says today: "The union is seeking advance notice of potential layoffs, adequate severance packages, two years of recall rights, and voluntary separation options to minimise the impact of involuntary redundancies."
So it seems like they are not having their rights respected.
When companies earn such a bad reputation (not paying severance to people they discard) it lowers morale even further. â–ˆ
