Japan's Share of GNU/Linux Has More Than Doubled

Japan's adoption of GNU/Linux has always been lower than the global (international) average for whatever reason - maybe cultural, maybe language related, maybe something else. Akira might know better; he explained what "freedom" means to them. We wrote some articles about the obstacles to Japan's adoption of Free software, taking politics (US alliance/security assurances with shaky cooperation) and other factors into account.

Based on this month's data as dissected by statCounter, GNU/Linux now sits around 3.5% compared to about 1% two years ago.

Does this mean the inertia builds up? █
