IBM Replacing the People Who Built IBM With Cheaper and Younger Staff, According to IBM Insiders
Friday afternoon to date: (merely a subsample)
IBM is rotting and in the process of rotting it is dismantling communities like Fedora under the guise of concerns, manners, and "professionalism" (code word for moneyed interests). As this new post about Red Hat/IBM shows, they try to replace communities with what they call the Open Source Program Office (OSPO), controlled by the corporation it is design to whitewash and serve.
"OSPOs" are corporate fences, just like the CoCs they attempt to impose on everybody.
Aside from banishing/ostracising/expelling communities (real ones, not corporations disguised as such) they also replace the experienced adults with hungry, overconfident, and overambitious youngsters who would work longer hours and would basically do anything to avoid losing their jobs (which can result in deportation). There is no "politically-correct" (PC) way to bring this up, with IBM near the top of 'culprits'*, but until some moderation staff zaps lots of comments we've archived some comments and captured them below**.
This is a very common sentiment in IBM. Many people feel that way; the main difference is, some speak out about it and some shy away. The latter is temporarily good for "job security". █
