Microsoft Layoffs Not Limited to XBox (False Narrative in the Mainstream Media)

Days ago: (many comments are from Microsoft insiders)

We are seeing some gossip about Windows layoffs and why they are happening, with the same for slop, search (Bing) and various other units. Azure has had non-stop layoffs since 2020. It's still going on. It keeps happening due to demand problems.
As noted above, Windows is nosediving in terms of usage, as GNU/Linux gains a lot at its expense (7.3% this week) and many public places have Android/Linux terminals; visitors are brandishing Apple Macs and "smart" "phones".
In a world like today's, where Windows is relegated to "only laptops" and very little else (Chromebooks also sell OK), Microsoft is becoming less relevant and workforce reductions won't end any time soon.
The media seems to focus only on gaming and XBox. Microsoft prefers it that way; it helps distract from other impacted teams, projects, and products. █
