PIP-Styled Mass Layoffs Allegedly Coming to Microsoft by 12 August 2026
3 people from Microsoft (the site verifies origin) talking yesterday:

There seems to be another wave of layoffs coming next week; some people get notified in calls that last less than 60 seconds. More curious, however, in the above there's a mention of "performance-based layoffs in Redmond by August 12th, especially TSX and build teams."
The first P in "PIP" is performance, but that is typically just a false pretext. Microsoft has been doing "silent layoffs" (PIPs and more) for quite some time.
Web Services on Devices (WSD) and Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) get mentioned. Days ago we saw many headlines about culls in Microsoft's security teams, but this was spun as "hey hi" (slop) something rather than cost-saving, e.g. by offshoring or headcount reduction. Microsoft IDC is Microsoft India Development Center. █
