Xbox's 'Significant Restructure': Can Microsoft Find Profitability After 3,200 Layoffs?

"They should layoff all the xbox teams. There has been zero strategy for the console or games. Time to rebuild with a new team. Good riddance!" -Yesterday

Size (magnitude, scale, headcount) does not imply profitability and high profitability does not necessitate scale (look at Valve for example).

Microsoft is overweight - like IBM - because it is arrogant and it assumes that borrowing more money and hiring more people will necessarily mean growth and profitability.

In reality, profitability is decreased when they experiment with many things.

Due to profitability challenges it's hard to believe Microsoft will ever find a buyer for XBox. █
