This was an hour ago, mentioning "Daniel Pocock (Independent)" but instead devoting all the attention to a total baboon/buffoon with a trash can on his head:
Transparency is sorely needed in the UK and some politicians strive to get that; some work to eliminate SLAPPs (attacks on reporting).
Imagine British media that devotes attention to the signal rather than click-bait trash and attention-seeking 'whores'. They do this to sell ads, but typically at the expense of how well informed the population is (and can accordingly vote). Breeding ignorance means people will assume they have a choice between two pieces of trash: "Nige" or a literal trash can. █
