As the rumour (or gossip) mill goes, there is still another large wave of Microsoft layoffs on the way, but the second one or the "aftershock" (same as July 2025) might come in "silent" form, e.g. PIPs or what Microsoft sometimes calls "LITE".
First came "buyouts"; those who didn't take them would likely tell surviving colleagues it was a mistake. Sooner or later Microsoft will just "mark" people for departure and they will leave on their own. Zero "layoffs" to report. █
