Microsoft Sites or Sites Sponsored by Microsoft Angry That GNU/Linux is Gaining
Consider Hans-Christian Dirscherl, party pooper and Managing Editor at PC-WELT, a site of Windows boosters. He cites "Windows Latest", which is a known MICROSOFT PROPAGANDA site (we've shown this many times in the past). PCWorld, part of IDG (sponsored by Microsoft), now cites a MICROSOFT PROPAGANDA site as a source of facts, a fountain of truth.
Microsoft cannot tolerate sites claiming that GNU/Linux gains a lot of share. Because Microsoft hates Linux. So it is attacking the messenger. It mostly tries to discredit statCounter, except when something shown by statCounter (e.g. Vista 11 "Share") is convenient to Microsoft.
Put statCounter aside then.
GNU/Linux is at 7% today, based on analytics.usa.gov:
This is based on billions of monthly sessions. "There were 1.62 billion sessions in the last 30 days," it says.
Then you have Clownflare indicating something similar.
The Microsofters cannot easily dismiss reports of GNU/Linux growth as "bots" or just allege that statCounter alone is wrong. Heck, until recently many of the GNU/Linux clients were deemed "unknown". █
