        The morning was so sweet. Nothing to think about, nowhere to go, no one to be there for. I wake up, realize nothingness, go back to sleep. The cat has food, I could sleep all day if I needed.

        Ravens are partying in the compost. The gross chicken wings I tried to cook the next morning of the party was a feast for them. It wakes me up.

        I'm in a strange rhythm of work and rest. It works well, although I don't feel like I'm working a lot, money is getting in, task are getting done.

        Second of four summer gigs today - we're playing at a gaming convention this afternoon. Other than that, I don't have a lot on the docket for the weekend. I need to do some proofreading for the summer issue of the little magazine I edit, send the proofs to the contributors. Practice a bit; do some writing or songwriting. Watch my Blue Jays lose.

        These are my personal book notes of Emil Stolarsky's and Jaime Woo's "97 Things Every SRE Should Know". They are for myself, but I hope they might be useful to you too.

        I have a penchant for niche smartphones and UMPCs. In the realm of smartphones, I particularly like keyboard phones and phones with e-paper. Naturally, when I heard that the Minimal Phone MP01 would combine both, I was extremely interested in it. However, I didn't have the spare cash to purchase one when it came out, and most of the reviews I read for it were pretty middling, so I decided to hold off. Meanwhile, I picked up an original Pro1, a second Pro1 X, and an original Unihertz Titan.

        Some of my friends are also interested in niche devices, but none of them are interested specifically in modern keyboard phones. I've never met anyone else in real life who had a modern keyboard phone--until tonight.
