Rumours of Impending Mass Layoffs in IBM's Yorktown Office, Impacting the LLM (Slop) Staff
Bubbles never last forever, hence their name
Perfectly sane people recently pointed out that IBM censors not only sites critical of it but also social control media such as Reddit, where henchmen got caught censoring the main IBM "forum" (echo chamber). Workers had to create a new one in order to escape the more oppressive censors, at least for now.
Hours ago someone wrote about further IBM cuts, as noted elsewhere before (this is expected somewhere in the US, insiders speculated as to where). This one mentioned the site impacted and it's not Albany.
"Heard about cuts in Yorktown office," it said. "Heard about cuts in Yorktown office. Some related to llm research efforts, granite. I was very surprised since I thought it was a successful initiative. Can anybody confirm?"
Someone already blasts granite in the comments.
Albany (the factory of hype about "quantum") was mentioned some hours ago because of the absurd promotion path. It's reminiscent of what we saw and read elsewhere many dozens of times before. To quote: "The wild part is some of those same managers got shuffled around and somehow promoted even higher. Like girl… BASED ON WHAT?! What did they actually accomplish to justify jumping to senior manager? The team was chaotic at best and hadn’t hit any major milestones, but somehow poor leadership and mismanagement results in failing upward, getting promoted, and landing bigger roles. While the team gets reorganized into the ground. 😂 Albany promotion criteria are truly a mystery. Apparently, actual results are optional. Honestly, disgusting."
How many billions is IBM willing to lose for some vapourware (lies) that in effect cheats the shareholders?
How many more layoffs (silent or not) before a change of leadership. █
