Tell Me Something I Don't Know
Throughout history, bringing to light or bringing out (from the darkness) suppressed information was super-risky. Those who have a stake in the secrecy would do anything to maintain secrecy.
Unlike press releases, which are things people or companies actively want to put "out there", the above involves releasing information one does not want anybody to know about.
The lazy, lousy 'journalists' do the latter (second paragraph). In the area of patents and Free software we strive to do a lot of the former. It's not only more interesting; it is what constitutes public interest, not public relations.
This week we'll try to make the best use of "quiet time" (summer break) to work through material we've received and didn't quite find time to properly publish. We'll need several years to go through it all, time pressure would simply spoil the presentation.
It is hardly surprising that threats against us merely made us even more popular. This approach is counterproductive at every level. █
