Looking Ahead at September
When I was a baby I was photographed for the newspaper and the headline said Roy looks ahead at the coming year. I still have a copy (clip) of that article in an album somewhere.
Rianne and I look forward to a productive September and my laptop "bubi" (elephant's name) will eclipse 1,000 days of uptime in about 19 days from now:
up 980 days, 4:30, 3 users, load average: 7.02, 7.04, 7.05
We have 11 more days of rest and vacationing (staycation mostly), then we might adapt to changes as our development community wishes to deploy some new backend changes with better functionality [1, 2].
Last year (at a similar time of the year) we were testing search, which went live and has since then been used very heavily at times, both by us (for research purposes) and by readers who aren't directly involved.
With GNU/Linux growing in terms of "market share" we seem to be seeing more visitors and equipping those visitors with better tools is just as important if not more important than adding new pages. █
